Dr. Laura Bernal

Dr. Laura Bernal graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 as a member of the Phi Zeta honor society. She went on to work as a full-time emergency veterinarian in various locations across Northern California. She has a special interest in trauma, ultrasound, and the human-animal bond. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her three children and husband (Dr. Chey!) who is also a veterinarian. She founded AUC Rocklin with her husband after many years of dealing with frustrated people and their pets that would often wait for hours in the ER for an urgent care issue, only to be bumped to the end of the line when more critical patients arrived.

She modeled the clinic after human urgent care clinics where she was amazed at how quickly her daughter got x-rays, pain medication, and a splint in a reasonable amount of time and avoided the dreaded ER. Why not provide the same expedited and efficient care for our furry family members? She is very excited to be able to provide this new type of service to Rocklin and the surrounding cities.

In her limited spare time, Dr. Laura enjoys being a sports mom, travel, yoga, and pedaling to nowhere on her Peloton. The family has a small poodle mix named Pepper (Peppy/ Peppychino/ Pep-Pep), who they rescued when he was abandoned as a sick puppy.

Dr. Chey Bernal

Dr. Chey Bernal is a Northern California native, born and raised in a small town east of Redding. He graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and completed a rotating internship with Ironhorse Vetcare in 2017. He has since been working exclusively in emergency medicine. His professional interests include pain management, emergency medicine, and urgent/ emergency surgery. You can often find him fishing our local rivers with the kids.

Dr. Collins

Dr. Haley Collins

Dr. Haley Collins graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She started her pursuit of emergency medicine with an emergency focused internship in San Diego. After graduating from the program, she moved back to Northern California and has continued her journey in emergency medicine in the Sacramento area ever since. She loves emergent and urgent cases because she can provide essential, immediate service for the animals and their families during critical and stressful times. Helping both animals and people find solutions through difficult times is a passion of hers.

When Dr. Collins is not practicing medicine, she's spending time with her husband and two boys adventuring, traveling to new places, and hiking or running the local trails. If she's not out exploring, she's snuggling their family Saint Bernard named Roz, their Pittie named Dyno, or their very sassy feline named Small Cat.
